Artist Studio Space:
Create at Nest in Blairgowrie is a not for profit enterprise who aim to provide affordable studio, workshop and teaching space for artists, crafters and makers within the local community. They are all about ‘space’ and their website details all the different space options available including window space and pop up sales space. In addition, there are 4 kilns belonging to resident fused glass designer Rachel Bower, who provides kiln technician services. Contact Create at Nest for full information.
The Studio at The Big Shed at Tombreck on Loch Tay, offers space for an artist residence & gallery, available from one week to one month, the 60m2 craft studio in an open plan attic space on the first floor is suitable for musicians, artists (working with clean media such as photography, textiles, weaving, jewellery, small scale painting, poets, writers etc). The Big Shed situated on the A827 between Killin & Lawers, is a community led space and offers affordable work and meeting spaces for community groups, social enterprises and small businesses, as well as shared spaces including a 60-seater community hall, commercial kitchen and bakery, and small social space with a lovely warm stove.
Wasps Studios (one of the UK’s largest non-profit studio providers) are currently working with Perth & Kinross Council to develop the derelict St Johns Primary School into a new Creative Exchange, an update can be read on this Invest In Perth link and you can keep up to date with progress on the Creative Exchange Perth Facebook page. The Creative Exchange is planned to accommodate studio spaces for both artists & creative businesses, exhibition space, workshop & class space, a cafe and a community garden.
Creative Business Support:
GrowBiz provides a community-based enterprise support service in rural Perthshire. Until recently, it worked mainly in the Eastern and Highland areas. Now, in partnership with Business Gateway, Perthshire Chamber and PKAVS, and with funding support from LEADER*, the service is available across Perthshire. The Barn Gallery at The Bield, Tibbermore, near Perth, is available for hire for exhibitions, day events and large groups.
The Strathearn Artspace in Crieff has a number of spaces suitable for hire as exhibition space, varying from the main auditorium to the smaller mezzanine level. Other space also available for different uses including cinema hire and meeting rooms.

Kiln Technician Services:
Kiln Technician Services are available at Create at Nest in Blairgowrie with resident fused glass designer, Rachel Bower. Glass and ceramic kilns are onsite that can be used to fire your work, all firing is done by Rachel and a price will be agreed depending on your needs. Contact Create at Nest for full details.
Laser Cutting, woodwork, metalwork and engineering:
The Workshop Aberfeldy offers a variety of services including laser cutting & engraving of a number of different mediums including wood, card, leather, cotton, tweed, acrylic & coloured laminates. They also offer a woodworking and engineering service.
Open Mic Opportunities:

The Taybank at Dunkeld is well known for its music and fantastic setting, as well for the food and great service! They have regular sessions every Wednesday (The boat Rd session) & every Thursday (Fiddle night). Call 01350 727 340 for details.
Twa-Tams run an Open Mic Night every Thursday from 8pm. Twa-Tams, 79-81 Scott Street, Perth, PH2 8JR
The Venue in Perth run a Wednesday Open Mic night hosted by local band, The Red Pine Timber Company from 9pm and there’s also a Sunday Social Open Mic session hosted by Perth based band The Mad Ferret Band from 3.30pm onwards.
Pop Up Space:
Create at Nest in Blairgowrie offer artists and makers not based on the premises an opportunity to promote and sell their work using wall space in the studio and in the small shop, they also rent out window space by the week. No fee is required, a 20% commission is taken on all sales made.
White Stuff in Perth also support local artisans and often run a pop up event.
Recording Facilities/Rehearsal Rooms:
Clearwater Recording Studios were established in Oct 2000 and have quickly become the hub of the local music scene, serving Perthshire & Eastern Scotland. They are based on Perth’s Shore Road and offer a wide range of services ranging from professional quality recording and mastering through to rehearsal room hire and instrument/vocal tuition.
Remake is Perthshire’s Scrapstore based in Crieff offering affordable alternative arts & crafts materials and resources. The Remake Scrapstore also has a furniture and tool reuse project. Remake is a registered charity and social enterprise, check the website for Remake’s opening hours.
Theatre Performance Space:

Create at Nest, Blairgowrie rents out the ground floor by the hour to run classes and workshops. Facilities include a sink, folding tables and chairs, it can accommodate 12 people comfortably. From £8.50 per hour this includes costs and wifi access.
