There are a number of opportunities for professional artists and designer makers to showcase their work at events organised throughout Perth & Kinross.
Perthshire Open Studios is an annual 9 day event in early September (5-13th September 2020), encouraging artists and makers across the whole of Perth & Kinross to take part and throw open their studio doors to visitors, who can come and both meet the artist, talk through their process, see it in action and have a chance to buy direct.Registration is usually around March/April of each year and is always very popular. This annual event is in it’s 13th year and run by a group of dedicated volunteers.
ArTay runs for the first four days of Perth Festivals of the Arts, 21st-24th May 2020. It features over 300 original works by over 80 Contemporary Scottish artists and makers. ArTay is organised by Frames Gallery.
Alyth Creates is a 3 day festival of art, music, heritage and the outdoors and held at the end of May. Their programme includes a variety of creative workshops and an Artists & Makers Fair and introducing a Plein Air Painting Competition for 2019. Dunkeld Art Exhibition: Now in its 49th year the Dunkeld Art Exhibition runs for 10 weeks every summer to raise money for the upkeep of Dunkeld Cathedral. Artists from all over the UK show paintings, prints and sculptures and the exhibition attracts some 10,000 visitors each year. 2020 dates tbc. See their website for full details.

There are a number of different opportunities throughout the year at various locations, many of these direct selling opportunities are organised voluntarily by makers themselves on a not for profit basis as a platform for creatives to showcase their original, handmade and high quality work.
Perth City Centre
Perthshire Creates run a curated Summer and Christmas Design Market in June and November respectively showcasing the professional creative talent of many artists and designer-makers living and working in the Perth & Kinross & the Tay Cities area. The Perth Handmade Show is an annual event held at the Perth Concert Call in November, showcasing the work from artists & designer-makers from Scotland and beyond. Information on how to exhibit can be found on their website.
Fair City Markets in the City centre are mixed markets for arts & crafts, gift products, food and drink. There are often seasonal variations with plants, shrubs in Spring and Christmas trees and festive goods in December. They take place in the city centre (King Edward Street/High Street between 9am and 4.30pm. Information on how to apply for a stall can be found on the Fair City Markets website.
Monthly Summer Markets
Dunkeld: The Dunkeld Craft Collective ran monthly Summer markets from March to August in 2019 and a Santa Day Market at The Taybank in Dunkeld. we will update dates for 2020 as they become available. If interested in booking a space, email firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
Aberfeldy: The Aberfeldy Arts & Crafts Fairs are run on the first Sunday of the month from April to October, 10am – 2pm & located in the Birks Cinema mezzanine, (with the Aberfeldy Farmers Markets running at the same time in the Town Square). Logierait: Logierait County Markets is a busy country market with local traders selling produce, crafts & collectables, with live music and catering held monthly every 3rd Sunday from April to October. For more details on how to take part email email@example.com.
Pitlochry: Pitlochry Markets are held monthly on the 3rd Saturday of each month from April to October from 10am – 3pm. The Pitlochry Markets 2nd Saturday monthly from April to October, the first market will be on Easter Saturday, 20 April.
Kenmore, nr Aberfeldy: Pop Up Markets are arranged at the Taymouth Courtyard Shop in Kenmore. Follow their Facebook page for regular updates.
