The Big Shed is a purpose-built, community-owned, environmentally-friendly building set in the beautiful Perthshire hills with views onto Loch Tay. It’s a truly inspirational setting; rich in flora, fauna and archaeological heritage, with a sandy lochside beach, natural woodlands, waterfalls, large open spaces and wilderness. It provides affordable facilities and workspaces, which are available for hire separately or together by both small local business, including arts/crafts, or by those from outside the area wishing to work here for a while. Creative people are encouraged to hang work in the hall, which has also been used for craft workshops, craft fairs and Meet- the- Maker type events. The Big Shed has a live-in studio available to rent for periods of 1 week to a year. It’s suited to artists working with clean media and the door heights make it unsuitable for artists creating works over 6ft. The Big Shed has a strong interest in music and also organises concerts of various genres, from traditional Scottish, through blues, to classical and fusion music.
