Changes at Perthshire Creates

October 14, 2020 by Perthshire Creates

A few changes are in the pipeline for Perthshire Creates and this website over the coming weeks.  As the online network showcasing the contemporary creative & cultural side of life in Perth & Kinross, Perthshire Creates is being integrated into the wider Culture Perth & Kinross organisation.

Culture Perth & Kinross are committed to exploring the work of and collaborating with local artists as part of the contemporary programming activity.  Creative opportunities, both those directly linked to Culture Perth & Kinross, and wider local and national ones will continue to be shared via the Perthshire Creates social media accounts on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

Culture Perth & Kinross values the importance and strength of the creative sector in the area and welcomes additional lines of support for creatives that have developed in recent years.

The Creative Peer Support Group run by GrowBiz Scotland, the organisation supporting business and enterprise in rural Scotland, is open to anyone running a creative business or working in the creative sector.  Running regular online events they provide an opportunity to meet and chat with other creatives, discuss relevant topics and informally network. You can also join their Creative Peer Support Facebook Group Page, a space to share links, knowledge, ideas, ask questions, connect with and support other like minded creatives who understand the challenges of running a creative business.

GrowBiz have also recently launched the Perthshire Artisans website, a curated platform designed to both support creatives living and working in the area and provide a marketing and e-commerce facility to showcase the Artisans work.  Find out more about how to join Perthshire Artisans on their website and for regular updates regarding the platform, the Artisans and their product sign up to their newsletter here.

The Perth Creative Exchange, run by Wasps, the organisation providing artist and creatives with inspiring workspaces, recently opened the transformed former St John’s School building in Perth city centre as a creative hub.  For more details about available Studio Space and additional facilities at the Perth Creative Exchange you can make contact using this email.

Culture Perth & Kinross remain committed to promoting and showcasing the work of Perthshire creatives, maintaining the library based Maker_Spaces as a creative resource and running the popular Design Markets.

Perthshire Creates website will be integrated into the Culture Perth & Kinross webpage and this website will be redesigned to facilitate the Perthshire Creates Christmas Design Market, which will launch at 6pm on Thursday 26 November and run until Sunday 29 November.
