Perthshire Artisans website launch
August 17, 2020 by Perthshire Creates
Perthshire Artisans is the place to discover individually handcrafted pieces and creative services from across rural Perthshire. The new website is far more than just an online shop— it focuses on supporting and showcasing the artisan way of life, highlighting the beautiful rural Perthshire setting and showing the unique creative practices of its carefully chosen creators.
Perthshire Artisans invites you to meet each artist in fascinating individual videos, where you’ll hear about their inspirations, individual practices and special techniques. You’ll also be able to view their gallery of stylish product images and read about their extraordinary pieces. Visiting Perthshire Artisans is an absorbing experience that feels more like attending an open studio event than browsing a website.
In bringing together some of the best creative talent across Perthshire, the new website and online shop offers a fantastic opportunity to explore some of the high quality pieces being produced across the inspirational region.
The wide variety of artworks and products featured on the platform have been carefully curated and many are exclusive to Perthshire Artisans. From modern homewares inspired by Perthshire’s countryside and wildlife, to statement upcycled clothing, unique jewellery and original paintings and illustrations, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Perthshire Artisans currently features a selection of nine creatives, with a second round of applications set to be opening soon. The platform provides the artisans with a range of marketing and admin services, enabling them to focus on the creative side of their business.
Perthshire Artisans is part of the Smart Village project powered by GrowBiz Scotland, the Perthshire-based rural enterprise support organisation. Smart Villages are digital communities that promote enterprise support and connectivity for rural businesses across Scotland. They can be based around a geographical area or, like Pethshire Artisans, a community of shared interest.
GrowBiz CEO Jackie Brierton says: “The recent economic shutdown has proved how vital a digital platform is for small creative businesses to continue to reach their audience and have varied routes to market, and we are delighted that Perthshire Artisans is now up and running and providing that option.
It’s exciting to see how Smart Villages can help rural communities work together to develop new and dynamic ways to support micro-enterprises.”
So take a look at the new Perthshire Artisans website and be inspired by the talented creatives, the quality of their work and the beauty of where they create. Discover unique homewares, original gifts, one-of-a-kind fashion and art you’ll never tire of, all while supporting the artisan way of life in the vibrant region of Perthshire.
