April 19, 2018 by Perthshire Creates

The Society of Scottish Landscape Photographers is proud to announce their first exhibition at The Lime Tree Gallery, Fort William and runs until 5 May before heading to Ocean Terminal in Edinburgh for the remainder of May. The exhibition will consist of images from selected members representing the biggest and best collection of landscape photographers ever assembled in one exhibition.

Founded in September 2015 by Davie Hudson and Russell Sherwood, two professional photographers from Dundee and Skye respectively, the Society is made up of professional level photographers from all over the UK with the common aim to promote Scotland and it’s landscape whilst advocating an outdoor life and responsible tourism.

The exhibition is a major step forward for the Society and it coincides with partnerships with both Zeiss and Formatt Hitech, two of photographies most prestigious names.

Perthshire and the surrounding area is well represented in the exhibition with Nicky Goodfellow, Katherine Fotheringham, Andy Clark and Annette Forsyth with Davie Hudson from nearby Dundee all showing images.

Nicky Goodfellow is a landscape/nature photographer based in Perthshire, Scotland. Brought up in the Perthshire countryside, Nicky has a natural affinity towards nature. In addition to capturing the wild and rugged landscapes of Scotland Nicky specialises in fine art tree photography depicting the natural beauty of trees and woodlands throughout the seasons.

Andy Clark founded Fox in the Snow Photography in 2015 with his friend Katherine Fotheringham, and has always been passionate about photography and Landscape photography in particular. Annette Forsyth is a professional photographer based in Crieff. Annette has always spent a lot of time in the outdoors and her love of landscape photography developed naturally. Annette runs weeklong photography holidays in various parts of Scotland mainly catering for visitors from Germany. Her work is available in several outlets in and around Crieff.

Davie Hudson is from Dundee, Scotland and likes to describe himself as an Organic Photographer, as his photography is very mood-driven which often results in the images having a darkness that may feel a little uneasy.  He doesn’t always go for the perfect shot but rather the shot that evokes the most emotion from both himself and his clients. He finds the more of himself and his feelings that goes into an image the better it is received. He has a fascination with the united persistence of water and therefore it plays a big part in his work. Davie is currently head of The Society of Scottish Landscape Photographers.
