Darkness Reflected
February 17, 2017 by Perthshire Creates
Darkness Reflected is a joint collaboration between two Perthshire based artists, Christine Partridge (painter) and George Logan (photography).
Showing at Patriothall Gallery, Edinburgh, from Friday 17 – Tuesday 28 February 2017, this exhibition of paintings, sculptures, books, photographs and video explores the transformation of experience through finding insight and beauty in the darkest of places.
In the summer of 2015 the eyesight of one of the artists suddenly and alarmingly changed. Anything linear became curved and bulged. Everything became distorted. Inspired by the original eye scans, this body of work is the outcome of a dialogue between the scientific and documented ‘truth’ (the scans, the structure of the eye, how and what we ‘see’) and the inner perceiving intelligence of experience, another form of ‘truth’.
There’s an opportunity to hear what inspired the artists and to reflect with others on the transformation of experience through art at the participative Artists Talk on Saturday 25 February from 11am – 12.30. You can register your interest in taking part in the Artists Talk on this Eventbrite link.
