Call for designer makers/artists for Christmas Design Market

2015 was our first Christmas Design Market and it was much enjoyed by over 400 visitors on the day with great feedback from the designer-makers taking part.
The 2016 event is an opportunity for Perthshire based designer-makers to showcase their work and a platform for the many fabulous contemporary design work being created throughout the area.
We welcome both established and emerging makers from all creative disciplines to provide a wide choice for visitors, and to best represent the area’s talent with high levels of quality, craftsmanship and originality. The event will be marketed through various activities including social media, What’s on Guides, flyers and posters.
This professional selling and networking opportunity is set in Perth Museum, an inspiring backdrop for a design led Christmas market, and is a fantastic opportunity for people looking for a high quality, individual gift.
How to Apply
The application process welcomes submissions from independent practitioners with original, high quality work to sell, living and/or working in Perthshire & Kinross. We are not accepting submissions consisting of items that are not original in design – for example, jewellery that is assembled from manufactured beads or knitwear from commercial patterns. Work must be hand made, or produced in small batches, finished to the highest standards and displayed creatively.

- Request an application form from firstname.lastname@example.org
- Complete and return the application form with requested images to email@example.com with ‘Christmas Design Market Application’ in the subject heading
- EXTENDED Deadline: 5pm Friday 23rd September 2016
The cost of a stall (either 5’ of 6’ table) is £30 (VAT included). Selected stall holders will be asked to bring their own floor length covering cloth. Exhibitors are encouraged to merchandise their table in whatever way best reflects the nature of their work.
If additional space eg: for hanging rails, easel or print rack, access to electrical sockets etc is required please indicate this on your application form. We’ll do our very best to accommodate these requests so long as clearly indicated on your submission form and space allows.
Promotion of the event
Perthshire Creates will undertake marketing and promotional activity to support and build the success of this event, including posters, web content, and social media. Perthshire Creates will provide promotional graphics and information and encourages participants to help promote the event via their own networks.
The Perthshire Creates Christmas Design market will be open to the public between 10 – 4pm, with exhibitors set up from 8.45am on the day
Originality and quality of work is the main criteria for the selection process, but we also want to ensure there’s a good mix from both the stallholders’ and visitors’ perspective. Work will also selected on suitability for the audience and the show itself and complement other exhibitors.
If you are not successful for this event, please know that space is limited and it does not mean that you won’t be successful for future events, previous participation does not unfortunately guarantee selection.
Dates to Note
Application Deadline – EXTENDED to 5pm Friday 23rd September 2016
Notification – By Friday 30th September 2016
Acceptance/Payment – Friday 21st October 2016
Design Market – Saturday 26th November 2016
Successful applicants will be sent notification, a booking form and invoice for the event. A completed booking form and table fee must be received by Friday 21st October to secure your space.
Unsuccessful applications will also receive notification via email.
