Wigtown Book Festival Poetry Competition Open for Entries

The Wigtown Poetry Competition 2016 is open for entries.  Celebrating it’s 10th anniversary the poetry competition is an integral part of the 10-day Wigtown Book Festival, now one of the UK’s best-loved literary events.  The 2016 event runs from Fri 23rd Sept – Sun 2nd Oct.

Founded in 1999, the Wigtown Book Festival  welcomes writers from far and wide and features more than 200 events and activities for all ages, including music, theatre, food and visual arts.  It also celebrates the rich history and landscape of Galloway, Wigtown is a traditional market town and also Scotland’s National Book Town, a designation that reflects its dozen or so secondhand bookshops and annual literary festival.
