Commissioning Opportunity for self-employed artists and designers living and working in Perth & Kinross

A new cultural organisation is in development locally and we would like to commission an individual to create a new brand identity for the organisation. The commission will also include working with some S3 pupils in Blairgowrie High School to explore the theme of visual identity and to create new interpretations of the final branding.

The commission is to:

  • Develop a vibrant visual identity for the new organisation which embodies the values and ideas behind the organisation.
  • Produce final artwork and a set of branding guidelines for application across all printed and digital marketing material.
  • Work with S3 pupils within a local school as part of their National Course in Design, to explore the theme of visual identity and share their experience of creating a brand.

Fee: £4,000 (includes all preparation, travel, materials)

Application: To receive a detailed brief and apply for this opportunity, please supply a current CV including the name of two referees and up to 6 images of your work to: Linda Allan, LAAllan@pkc.gov.uk

Final selection will be made by management team and members of the new organisation

References will be requested. Please do not send more than 10MB in one email.

Deadline: Midnight 20 December 2015

Please note this commission could be for a single artist or a collaborative pair or group, although they would be funded as one commission rather than as individuals.

A key aim of this project is to involve the local community with the new branding. The successful candidate will be inspiring, resourceful, approachable and unique. You will creatively collaborate with pupils in a workshop during school hours, to create their own version of your branding for an exhibition at the launch of the new organisation in 2016.
